The BEST Book on How to Make Money Online: A step by step guide

The Best Book on How to Make Money Online: A step by step guide

Like many people I was downsized during the financial meltdown of 2008-2009 However, my first novel “Frostie the Deadman was doing well, and the follow up was nearly completed so I wasn’t too concerned

I should have been.

But I had years of experience at my profession and a good rep in the industry so I figured I wouldn’t have too hard a time landing another job.

I assume a lot of people in my position felt the same way. But as the following weeks turned into months it became all too clear that more people were being laid off than were being hired and those being hired were asking for a lot less money in salary than I was.

Then my publisher ran into financial trouble and was unable to publish my follow up. And without a follow up, the royalties on my first book began to dry up.

I was in trouble.

I decided to form my own publishing company and together with a few other authors I created Ari Publishing. I figured that as published authors we wouldn’t have much trouble building readership, but then a writers strike hit and the market was suddenly flooded with books, many being marketed for free on Amazon’s KDP program.

These events did not bode well for our hero.

Ari Publishing’s books http://aripublishing.com did get positive reviews but the competition was simply too high and we began to flounder. However, I was determined to succeed. So I immersed myself into the publishing business and learned everything I could about it. Then wrote a book so other independent writers and publishers wouldn’t have to go through the same hell. Here’s the link: http://amzn.to/1hTVD35

But the economy was still down and the old school book marketing methods wasn’t working so I needed to find a new way to get my books in front of the public.

I discovered affiliate marketing through sheer luck. I read a blog that described the process and it was pretty simple (that’s what I thought at first, I would soon learn that wasn’t the case.) It broke down to this: You went online to a big retail store like Amazon, Wal-Mart or Target, scrolled to the bottom of their home page, clicked on the Affiliate link and joined.

Simple enough.

You chose the products you wanted to promote online, the company gave you an affiliate link and you wrote a review of the product in an article or blog post and include the affiliate link in it. When someone clicked on it and bought the product or ANY product they featured, you would get a commission check.

As a writer, I figured this would be a piece of cake. Easy money AND a great way to market www.aripublishing.com books.

It would be a year before the affiliate route provided any real money. Why? Because affiliate marketing is a business. A business I knew nothing about. I spent months hawking books on a blog that had no readers and I didn’t know how to change that.

Plus, at the time people were new to internet purchasing and were VERY wary about putting their credit card info online.

I now had a pretty good handle on book publishing but then discovered that writing and publishing a book was a walk in the park when compared to marketing those books!

Here’s the problem. Writer have ENORMOUS egos. We think that once we write a book, the masses will hungrily devour it and beg for more.

Here’s what really happens. You write a book, publish it and wait for Hollywood to call. That doesn’t happen. What DOES happen is Life stops by, says hello then punches you in the face then says. “Listen up. A book is no different than any other product. You’ve seen those guys on street corners relentlessly hawking their wares, hoping to make enough to open a store of their own. Well, you’re one of them now. You want to make an honest buck? Then get out on the internet and learn how to sell it!”

Word to the wise: Don’t say stuff like, “But I am an Artiste, a Scribe! Not some petty door-to-door salesman!” Because if you do Life will punch you in the face again… and again, just to make sure he got his point across.

So in addition to learning the publishing business I had to learn how to market online.

Which was another uphill battle because you don’t know what you NEED to know to succeed. So you stagger from one pointless venture to the next, selling little and learning the hard way with each step.

BUT I DID LEARN. And am making good money and more each month. It is a full time job but I love what I do so the hours fly by.

But I didn’t forget how hard and how disappointing those early days were. And how much time I could have saved if I only knew then what I know now.

So take a tip from a guy who’s been there and done that. It doesn’t matter what affiliate product you have or service you provide, you need to learn how to market it over the internet. And my latest book: The BEST Book on How to Make Money Online: A step-by-step guide http://amzn.to/1h8ovoB shows you exactly how to do just that. And you actually can do it with No money, No Experience and No product of your own.

It’s will show you how to make money online WITHOUT SPINNING YOUR WHEELS, and considering how shaky the economy and how bleak the employment figures are, having several additional income streams coming in each month can keep you afloat when so many others are going under.

It costs only $4.99 and will save you months if not years of trying this and that and making no money whatsoever. My methods actually work, (I know because I use them) So download it here http://amzn.to/1h8ovoB and give it a read. It might very well change your life.

The Pro & Cons of making money online

The Pros And Cons Of The Most Popular Systems And Methods To Make Money Online (From Someone Who’s Been There, Done That)

Top make money online strategies pros and cons
The Pros And Cons Of The Most Popular Systems And Methods To Make Money Online (From Someone Who’s Been There, Done That)

This is a guest post. I liked it so much I decided to share with my blog readers -Zack

As I’m sure you’re aware, there’s hundreds of ways to make money online. Maybe thousands. Over the years, while learning how to become a successful internet marketer, I tested just about all of them.
If you are brand spanking new to this industry and you’re searching for a proven way to get started (that actually works), read this guide carefully. The truth is, not every method out there works (or at least not as well as you think).
By the way, if you have personal experience with any of the methods listed below, I highly encourage you to share your experiences. Let us know what worked for you and what didn’t, and also the pros and cons of each method in your opinion.
Now, here are the methods I’ve tested over the years that have produced the best results:
*Ebay arbitrage*. The basic idea is simple. You buy poorly listed auctions on Ebay (poor title or description, no photos or bad quality photos, the seller has no feedback or bad feedback, etc) and you re-list them properly (with good quality photos, detailed descriptions and so on).
Often, you’re able to win poorly listed auctions for pennies on the dollar, since most people tend to avoid these auctions like the plague. Occasionally, you do get ripped off (some of these items are poorly listed for a reason), but the overall profit is more than worth it.
This is the very first method I had decent success with. If you put your mind to it, there’s no reason you can’t make at least $1000 or $2000 profit a week.

*Pros*

This method is very profitable. I used to buy and sell mobile phones. I got so good at one point that I was able to buy and sell decently listed auctions and still make good margins.
It’s cheap to get started. $20 is enough to buy and sell your first auction, and then all you have to do is invest the money you make to grow your business. And the sky is the limit.
It’s very easy and fun. At the time I was looking for the quickest and easiest way to start making real money online. Without a doubt this was it. All you had to do was buy and sell auctions all day long, and as far as I was concerned it wasn’t even really work.

*Cons*

It was VERY addictive. Once I started banking some decent profits, it became difficult to tear myself away from the computer. It was almost like a drug. Each time a new sale rolled in, I wanted to do it again. It was nice to be successful for a change, but it’s important to find a work life balance.
There were a lot of setbacks. Buying dud auctions, refunding unhappy customers and dealing with tire kickers all took their toll on morality and margins.
It became more and more competitive. I live in a small country, and it wasn’t long before people figured out what I was doing and started copying me. Sometimes people copied my exact auction description which was frustrating, as I was using several sneaky tricks to get them to stand out (which worked).
It was hard to scale. The money’s decent, but you’re still limited by how many auctions you can buy and sell. And there’s only so many hours in each day. Unfortunately, this is not an automated business.
*Search Engine Optimization (SEO)*. This involves getting your website to the top of Google for valuable keywords. There are a lot of ways to monetize organic search engine traffic, but the most profitable is marketing information products to highly targeted traffic. You can either market your own products or affiliate offers, it’s up to you.
This is, without a doubt, one of the best ways to earn passive income online. Once your site is set up and ranked you literally don’t have to do anything. The traffic comes in, day in and day out; the sales pour in, day in and day out; and all you do is sit back and collect the cheques.

*Pros*

It’s 100% passive. As I mentioned, once your site is established and ranked, there’s no physical work involved. You just sit back and watch the money roll in. The first website I created (over four years ago now) is still #1 in Google even though I haven’t changed or done anything.
It’s affordable and doable for the average person. All you really need is a hosting account, a domain name, some articles (which you can write yourself or outsource) and maybe $300 to get enough links to get ranked. And once your site is established, you can earn that back many times over.

*Cons*

If they want to, Google can wipe you out overnight. Everyone’s heard of the infamous “Google updates”. And while some websites actually do better afterwards, others aren’t so lucky. And if Google takes a particular dislike to what you’re doing, they can pull the plug on your rank (and your income) overnight.
It’s competitive. When you know what you’re doing, I personally believe it’s easy to get ranked for just about any keyword you want. But there’s always new competitors coming along that can make your job tougher. But if you’re persistent and determined, you can beat them.
*Selling your own information products* *online*. This is without a doubt my favorite method, and the only one that’s given me solid, consistent success from day one. The idea is simple. You either create a “how to” product or a membership site (my personal favorite) that teaches people how to improve their quality of life, either by forming better relationships, improving their health or increasing their personal incomes.
The truth is, EVERYONE wants to look better, feel better, improve their relationships and make more money. And if you can convince people that you can help them achieve these goals, you can do very well online.

*Pros*

You can completely automate your business (and income). Once you have a proven, tested and optimized sales funnel, an established network of affiliates and joint venture partners, and you’ve systemized and streamlined your business, it’s possible to earn 100% passive income.
The sky is the limit. Depending on the niche you’re in, it’s generally easy to scale your business, and there are now more traffic sources than ever before. Remember, you own the product, and everyone in the world is a potential customer.
The profits margins are incredible. All you need to get started is a hosting account, a domain name and a payment processor like ClickBank. Generally speaking, the raw margins can be above 99% once you scale your business.

*Cons*

It takes hard work to get started. Unless you license someone else’s product, you’ll need to create your own. That can take a lot of time, energy and determination. But in the end the results are more than worth it.
It can be difficult to make a name for yourself. The internet is becoming more and more competitive, and there are a lot of marketers out there trying to establish themselves. Luckily, if your product is different, unique and interesting (like The Million Dollar Case Study), it makes your job A LOT easier.
Paying for traffic is expensive, intense and can be difficult to master. At some point, the key to scaling your business is paying for quality traffic. As you probably know, this method can have a very big learning curve, and many people give up before becoming successful. But again, if you hang in there, the rewards are worth it.
So there you have it, the pros and cons of the most popular money making methods out there in a nutshell. If you’re just getting started online, I personally recommend to sell information products. Again, this is the method that’s given me the best success, and while it does take time and energy to build your business, ultimately, the dividends are worth it.

How to Start an Online Business Video Tutorial

*Note* This was originally posted on my business site http://theundergroundcollege.com but then I realized that most people visiting my business site would already know how to set up a business website whereas those on my social site might not, so I have copied and pasted the tutorial link at the bottom of the page
As most of you know, I have been a voice in the wilderness crying out about the slow destruction of the middle class, and because of that, one of the most necessary things to have in today’s internet economy is a website from where you can make the world aware of who you are and what you have to sell.
There are a number of videos on YouTube that feature tutorials on setting up a word press site but most are out of date as are the methods of construction.
Fortunately, one of the best internet marketers in the business, Brian Johnson (I subscribe to his newsletter,) has created a brand new video that not only shows you exactly How to install a WordPress website he also show you how to optimize it with the best traffic getting plug-ins.
People who subscribe to my newletter regularly receive information like this so if you find this info useful you should sign up. The opt-in box is on the right.
As a newsletter subscriber I received the link and was about to ask Brian if I could share it on my site, when I noticed that he gave his full permission to all his subscribers.
There are a number of videos included so you might want to get a piece of paper and a pen (and a cup of coffee).
If you’re doing the smart thing and preparing to create an online presence for yourself, this is a great way to get started and be taught by someone who is already very successful as an internet marketer. Here’s the link, enjoy

The Secret of Making Money Online

Making money online is lucrative, but it isn’t easy. If it were easy, it would likely be a Ponzi scheme or a scam. The premise of making a living promoting products online is simple. You set up a website, find a product that people want to buy and a make it available to them.

Sounds simple. But if it were simple we would all be wealthy and living our dreams.

But most of us aren’t. So what’s the problem?

The problem is we listen to people who believe they know how to make money online, but don’t, or listen to people who say you can’t make money on line when hundreds of thousands obviously have.  So who do you listen to? You listen to the people who are proven successes at online businesses and follow their lead.

But there is a problem there as well. Each successful online business guru has his or her own style. Much like each writer has their own ‘voice’. They have created their businesses through trial and error, often lost money at first but kept at it until they found what worked for them and what didn’t. Once done, they eliminated what didn’t work and focused on improving what did.

And that, my friends, is the secret.

Disappointed? Expected something mind-blowing? An epiphany or magic formula perhaps?

Sorry, but those are the tools of the Ponzi schemers, scammer and con-artists. To make real money takes real work. It also takes the right product. For example. I’ve written an ebook and audio book showing middle age men the signs of, and how to cope with, the collapse of their long term marriages. Have a look here:  http://amzn.to/19N2tQi

It’s selling well, but not great. I’m promoting it on Google adwords and the attention its getting is disappointing so I decided to look into why. While reviewing the key words I noticed a pattern. But not the one I wanted. People were clicking on keywords more closely related to marriage and love than separation and divorce, which is what the book is mainly about. I also noticed more women were clicking than the men, which is confusing because men are my target audience.

I’ve received scores of emails from men telling me how much they loved the book and how much it helped, one woman reviewer noted that the book was balanced and fair and that men need guidance just as much as women when a long term marriage comes to an end.

So what’s the problem? The book is well written, affordably priced and provides a needed service to men undergoing a very difficult patch in their lives.

   Why isn’t it selling better?

Then it struck me. What is one of the main complaints women have about men?

If you like, I can start the Jeopardy theme while you ponder.

And… Times up! The complaint is ‘Men don’t ask for directions’.

You might be saying, ‘But what does that have to do with anything?’ Well, to answer that, you take that specific personality trait and draw it out a little further. Men don’t ask for directions because men don’t ask for help. Asking for help indicates weakness. Real Men never show weakness. Showing weakness to the wife will make her question your ability to protect her, showing weakness will frighten the children, showing weakness will garner contempt from friends and associates.

Real Men grin and bear it. Real Men tough it out. Real Men take it on the chin and never complain.

And apparently Real Men don’t buy books that will teach them how to safely navigate through a very difficult and emotionally devastating time. And unfortunately, too many Real Men have no one to talk to, no one to commiserate with, and no one to unburden themselves on. And having reached the end of their emotional rope they are, too often, found hanging from the end of a physical one.

Which ironically, is why I wrote the book. Unaware that the one product they desperately needed was the one product that is so difficult for them to buy.

But this is a fact of life when it comes to selling products and that’s why it’s important to roll out more than one because sometimes what you believe are ‘sure things’ struggle to get sales while ‘long shots’ (the pet rock, cabbage patch kids) make millions.

So you see, the process is simple, real and profitable if you’re willing to put in the time and effort. So how do you start? You start by getting your own website. As mentioned in my previous post (below this one) you can get a professional website and set up for FREE at Wealthy Affiliate, the #1 company for people who market online. Once you join (for free) they set you up, show step-by-step videos on how to get products and sell them online. Click here: http://goo.gl/WAv9j  to look it over and see what they have to offer. (note* I did, liked what I saw and joined.)

Next step, learn from the professionals. Many of the best, Vick Strizheus, Dave Wood, Peng Joon, and Eric Holmland just to name a few have tutorials that demonstrate proven methods that make you money. One of the youngest and most successful is Peng Joon. In this video he shows you how to generate continuously increasing income online in less than a month. http://bit.ly/14nmpYw

If I may, I’d like to give you the one piece of advice I’ve discovered actually works in ALL cases regardless of what business you are setting up. And that is ‘You learn by DOING’ If you are serious about becoming financially comfortable, I’ve just showed you how. It doesn’t require any financial investment or contractual obligation to get started. You simply sign up at Wealthy Affiliate: http://goo.gl/WAv9j and watch the tutorials. A simple website can be set up in less than a half hour.  Then once you’ve watched the videos and realize that you can do it, you start looking for a mentor.

Mine is Vick Strizheus. Vick’s marketing company is extremely popular but is costly to join ($1997.00) and is not open to the public for most of the year. I’ve subscribed to his newletter however and have received several traffic obtaining tutorials that have worked wonders for my business. I’ve done the same with Eric Holmlund, who has also forwarded to me several valuable tutorials. I’ve found Peng Joon’s newletter very informative as well.

As for me, well I’m nowhere near these guys league but have started to make some money so I’m on my way. I’m also small enough so that if you run into a problem or need to know if a product or service is worthwhile promoting or purchasing or if you just have a question, you can email me at czarrichards@gmail.com and I’ll do what I can to help. You can also sign up for my newsletter on the upper right side of this page.

How to Start an Online Business for FREE

Watched a show on PBS last night about how financial planners, financial advisors, stock brokers etc. all rip you off.

But you already knew that didn’t you? You just don’t want to believe it, and I can’t say I blame you. Investing is complex and difficult to learn.

   Except it isn’t.

John Bogle the former CEO of the Vanguard Group the largest investment group in the world gave a simple explanation regarding the difference between index investing and speculation.

Here’s a short video of it.

The point is anyone can invest in index funds and make a good amount of money in the long haul. According to Bogle this is how the average working person should invest. Buying and selling stocks is like gambling in Vegas. You can have a great streak for awhile but eventually you’re going to crap out.

You may ask why I telling you this when the title of this post is about starting a business on line.

Here’s why: The government is juggling the figures regarding unemployment. They’re counting people with part–time jobs as employed when most work less than 20 hours a week.

The baby boomers are retiring: the financial boom over the last thirty years was generated by their spending. They’re watching their money now.

Big Box stores are in trouble: Sears, JC Penny, Kmart, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, Rite Aid and Office Depot are teetering on bankruptcy. Even Wal-Mart had a huge loss in their profits.

Why? Because more and more of us are buying on line. Amazon isn’t having any trouble, in fact they’ve never been better. Purchases from online companies are growing in leaps and bounds, and why not? They can supply the same product as the brick and mortar stores at a lower price because they don’t have overhead expenses.

Want to know who the next generation of millionaires and billionaires are going to be? Simple. The people who look around, see what happening, adapt to the changes and start their own online business.

But like investing, people believe that’s too complex for them. They think they need a degree in business or marketing or some other such nonsense.

It doesn’t need to be complex. The old saying ‘Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door’, is still true.

The good part is you don’t have to build it. All you have to do is find a product, become an affiliate (that means get permission to sell that product for the owner) then set up a website, present the product for purchase and inform those people who need it that’s it’s available.

Many of you are probably saying, “Yeah, great idea, smarty-pants except I have no clue how to set up a website and sell online. If only there was a place where a person could go to have a website created for them, have access to video tutorials that will show them EXACTLY what to do, and not charge them until they make a lot of money online.”

Gee, it seems to me that if someone actually created such a product, the world WOULD beat a path to his door.

Well, someone did and they are beating a path to his door. The website is called Wealthy Affilate. They are the #1 Affiliate Marketing company in the world and I am a member. They realized early on that people couldn’t afford to buy their product until they started making money so they set up a system where people could establish their own online business and learn at their own pace.

Like I said its free. It cost you nothing to join and you get not just one, but TWO FREE websites. They are preset so they are simple to activate. Just follow the simple step by step instructions and you can have your own functioning online business in less than a half hour.

Tired of struggling to make ends meet? This is your first step to your financial freedom. It cost nothing to look and it might change your life.
